Acer announces a winning twin of smartphones, the Liquid Gallant and Liquid Gallant Duo. With their advanced features and rich functionalities, these smartphones are the perfect companions of modern day’s explorers.

Acer presents its Liquid Glow smartphone at the 2012 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Based on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, this smartphone brings the ultimate balance between style, performance and affordability — ideal for today’s fun-seeking, social-networking youth.

Following the launch of the first Acer Liquid smartphones equipped with Android, Acer are now extending their range with a new model – the Acer Liquid Express – the company’s first NFC-equipped device.

« As a technology of the future, NFC is a priority for Acer as it can be used for multiple purposes: payment, transport, tickets, loyalty cards, cultural information… and that’s without having explored the thousands more applications that will follow. » says Allen Burnes, Vice-President of Acer’s THBG division.

Acer Liquid Express comes ahead of its time

Together with Orange UK and T-Mobile UK, Acer promise to make these new services widely accessible thanks to an affordable and easy-to-use smartphone. The Acer Liquid Express offers usage patterns now previously associated by premium smartphones.

Allen Burnes adds « Even if contactless technology has only just started spreading across the UK, it is important for the customer to take into account future need when choosing a new model. In a few months’ time quite a number of smartphone users, whose new smartphones don’t include NFC functionality, will have to change their mobile in order to benefit from this new technology. »

The contactless technology embedded in the Liquid Express allows it to adapt to its users’ current and future needs reading NFC tags or targets, identification, virtualisation of loyalty or payment cards; all of this according to the tightest security standards and approved by a consortium of expert manufacturers, granting NFC Forum 2 and Cityzi certifications to the Acer Liquid Express.

In addition to the NFC functionality, the Liquid Express is equipped with a large 3’5 screen, a Qualcomm 7227 processor that runs at 800MHz, a 5 MP camera with LED flash and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

Available in Titanium, the Acer Liquid Express marks the general implementation of NFC technology in Acer smartphones. Starting with this model, all of the forthcoming brand’s Android smartphones will be equipped with this up and coming technology.

The Acer Liquid Express is available FREE with both a £15.32 per month T-Mobile UK 24 months contract and a £20.50 per month Orange UK 24 months contract.

Acer recently launched the new Liquid Mini Smart Phone.

Acer has just revealed details about a new Acer Liquid series smartphone that they plan to launch in the UK in October. The Acer Liquid Metal S120 is a 3.6 inch handset that sports a 800×480 resolution.

The new cell phone has an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230-1 processor, and supports GSM/EDGE 850/1900 and WCDMA Band II and V standards.

The product specs confirm that the new phone of the Acer Liquid series run on Android 2.2 Froyo, has GPS, Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n WiFi.

We keep you updated on the development. Pricing and availability on other countries have not been revealed yet. It is however likely that the phone will launch in the US before year’s end.

Acer and Gateway are among the recipients of Japan’s Good Design awards, which have become a trademark for outstanding design and quality internationally. The winning entries are the Acer Aspire 8943G and Gateway EC39 notebooks, Acer Liquid Metal smartphone and Gateway FHD2303L LED monitor. A panel of 70 judges screened more than 3000 entries from around the world on their contributions toward society, culture and the global environment.
